‘European Yacht of the Year’ is announced annually, and these are the most prestigious awards in the marine industry. In short, they are considered the ‘Oscars of Yachting’.
They are presented by a jury comprising of 11 major yachting magazines, including the UK’s Yachting World. Firstly each magazine nominates the best boats they have sailed each year. Next the jury invite their nominees to selection trials, where they sail them together. Finally they jointly decide the winners in each category.
